    Took a trip to Bray today, on a rather gloomy day. Met some really nice folk, took a few good photos, and was surprised by the friendliness of the local swans: they wouldn't last a day in Reading! Come to think of it, they'd better watch out or they'll be on the menu in Heston's 'Fat Duck'.

    The working replica was created after the remains of a 16th Century fountain were found during an archaeological dig at the London palace in 2008, and is similar to those used by Henry VIII.

    The first fully certified drinking fountain in London for 30 years switched on at 11am on Friday 21 May 2010. This is a trial installation as part of a proposed scheme to introduce new drinking water fountains around the Square Mile and restore the City’s historic drinking fountains. Depending on the success and use of the fountain it could lead to a roll out of similar drinking fountains across the City during 2011.
